Kenyans Rally Behind Kibra MP Ken Okoth as He Battles Cancer Abroad

Kenyans online are sending goodwill messages to Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth as he continues to receive cancer treatment abroad.

Photos of Okoth were shared online on Thursday after he paid Kenya’s Ambassador to France Judi Wakhungu, a courtesy call.

“Courtesy call from Hon. Ken Okoth (Kibra). He updated us on many issues including his impressive education projects & his plans for increasing them to reach many students. He is also keen to use Sports Diplomacy to expand his students’ horizons,” Ambassador Wakhungu wrote.

Kenyans on social media were quick to notice changes in Okoth’s appearance. In March, Okoth said chemotherapy drugs were on his skin and immunity.

“Napambana na hali yangu kabisa. Chemo drugs brutal on the skin and immunity system,” he captioned a photo.

Kenyans online have encouraged Okoth, who was diagnosed with stage four Colorectal cancer, to keep fighting.

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has pledged to fly some of his constituents to visit their MP in France.

“I shall be willing to sponsor and lead a delegation of pastors, imams and a few Kibra constituents to visit him in France and pray for our beloved Mp. Get Well Soon Bro. Just continue believing in God,” Sonko said in a Facebook post.

  1. again money wasted going…
again money wasted going abroad instead of investing in our hospitals to make them world class, medical tourism can be a thing in Kenya also education tourism is a possibility if we make our universities the best in the region. Pathetic leaders… hope this guy is well soon
