The government has refuted claims that the ongoing crackdown on illegal immigrants in the country is targeted on specific nationalities.
In a statement on Saturday, the National Police Service said the operation is a multi-agency exercise aimed at repatriating immigrants found in the country without proper documentation.
“The National Police Service wishes to inform the public that the ongoing operation to repatriate undocumented immigrants from the Country is a multi-agency effort that does not target nationals of any particular country,” the National Police Service said in a statement.
The agency further urged foreigners in the country to always carry their identification documents to avoid finding themselves in trouble with authorities.
“In supporting the concerned agencies to enforce immigration laws, Police wishes to advise foreign nationals that they must always carry with them the necessary identification documents for inspection,if and when they are required to produce them by the Police or other relevant members of the multi agency team.”
Earlier this week, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i said the crackdown on illegal foreigners will be done in a manner that meets international standards.
“The Ministry of Interior has assured that it will not target a single nationality…” he said in a statement.

Why would a person from another so called third world country go to another third world country to be illegal? Makes sense to go a so called first world like the USA,or countries in the EU. To me they are either criminals evading capture in their own poor countries, or somehow they have heard that their are lot of economic opportunities in Kenya for any hard working person to grab.
Yes its the duty of the government to protect its citizenry. I personally have no problem with illegals in Kenya so long as they are not causing trouble.After all,where was Kenya 600 years ago…

There was no duel-citizenship in the old constitution when Miguna became a Canadian.He returned to Kenya and was issued with fake documents by expired jambazi Kajawang,a fact he and all elite ODM guys and even ODM judges knew.It is better for you to know that the AG has appealed against the unlawful court orders which can never be obeyed without his(Miguna’s) application.
