Joho Says Raila is Strong and in High Spirits After Surgery Abroad

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has assured Kenyans that ODM leader Raila Odinga is doing well after undergoing surgery abroad.

Joho through a video shared on his Facebook page on Friday said he spoke to Odinga in the morning and he was in high spirits.

“This morning I had the opportunity to speak to my party leader. I feel happy and encouraged that he’s progressing really well. So for us as a people, more importantly, the fraternity of ODM, we continue to pray for our leader,” said Joho.

“I have no doubt that within the shortest time possible, Baba will be back in Kenya. So ours is to continue to stay strong, to pray for him. He has undergone a procedure, let us not forget that even our leaders are still human beings; sometimes they have to be sick and get treated, sometimes they have to deal with the issues that every human being goes through.”

Joho, who is ODM’s deputy party leader, further exuded confidence that Odinga will return to the country soon to complete the journey of uniting the nation.

“I want to tell our supporters that our leader is strong, our leader is solid, he is recovering well, and soon he shall land back in Kenya and continue with the journey of ensuring we achieve our agenda of uniting the people of Kenya.”

Raila’s elder brother Oburu Odinga told Daily Nation that he underwent a minor surgical operation on his back at a German hospital in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

  1. How did Baba get to Dubai?…
How did Baba get to Dubai?..I thought there no intrenatinal flight going in and out of Kenya!…or it depends on who you are?..bure kabisa!

    • You can hap on any plane you…
You can hap on any plane you wish and go around the world if you wish! All you need to do is pay. You can even charter a jet and ask the pilot to take you to China. If that makes you feel special! No body is preventing you!

    • Private flights are not…
Private flights are not restricted from flying as long as they obtain a permit to fly & are willing to comply with Covid’s preventative measures. Businessmen & the powerful are crisscrossing the continents as long as social distancing is maintained.

    • Not bure kabisa.
      We also…

      Not bure kabisa.
We also have private jets still flying.
Work smart not hard and own one. Wacha uivu…!!

  2. Don’t we have surgeons kenya…
    Don’t we have surgeons kenya?
What are our hospitals for if we don’t have the capability of treating our own?
All we hear is specialized treatment in India,Germany, south Africa, USA, ETC..
But we have some other African leaders being treated in Kenya…

  3. Ala! after being in politics…
Ala! after being in politics all this years all you can say is cannot stop reggae. RAO should have initiated projects to help the people such as Good Hospitals, Good education, Security, Jobs, etc. He is worried about being the leader, look at kibera where he has been an mp, guess he left it a better place than he found it?

  4. Money talks but talks all it…
Money talks but talks all it wants, it does not seem to prevent death when it comes knocking. Now, I am not insinuating Odinga is dying but I always suspect something is up when the leaders start flying around in the believe that majuu has a cure from what ails them. They always return home to rest…after the West empty their inflated pockets.

    • And death is a mandatory…
And death is a mandatory requirement for you too @sukari! No one will live forever; rich, poor, and in-between! She don’t insinuate that only the rich will die! You too will go when your time is up!
