List of Kenyan Counties Affected by Covid-19 Cases

Kenya confirmed 11 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, April 28th, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 374.

Out of the 11 new cases, seven were confirmed in Nairobi County and four in Mombasa, according to Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Health Dr. Rashid Aman.

Dr. Aman noted that the 11 patients include two three-year-old children while the oldest is 70 years old.

The seven cases registered in Nairobi are spread out across four estates including Kawangware (4), Eastleigh (1), Manji (1), and Kaloleni (1), while all the four cases in Mombasa are in Kibokoni area in Old Town.

Tuesday’s cases raised the number of infections in Nairobi and Mombasa to 241 and 97 respectively. 

The two are the most affected counties in Kenya with Nairobi accounting for 90 percent of the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

Nairobi leads with 241 confirmed cases followed by Mombasa (97) Kilifi (9), Mandera (8), Kiambu (5), Kajiado (3), Kitui (2) Nakuru (2), Kwale (2), and Siaya (2). Homa Bay, Kakamega, and Uasin Gishu have one case each.

10 more Covid-19 patients were discharged on Tuesday after recovering from the virus, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 124. The number of fatalities remains at 14.
