Samantha”, a sex doll developed with artificial intelligence by Barcelona-based engineer Sergi Santos, has topped the list of items Kenyans searched most on Google in the month of January.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) 2018 intake came in as a second trending item.
In the “how to” section, the trending search in the just ended month was how to reverse an M-Pesa transaction, followed by how to buy Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) tokens, while how to withdraw money from SportPesa, a leading sports gambling site, came in third.
The English Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly referred to as the FA Cup, was the third most searched items by Kenyans as this year’s edition of this annual knockout competition came to its third and fourth stages.
Personalities who were searched more include, Yvonne Wamalwa, who is the widow of late Kenya’s vice president Kijana Wamalwa and passed away last week, Farida Karoney, who was recently named Cabinet Secretary for lands by President Uhuru and Polycarp Igathe, who recently resigned as Nairobi Deputy Governor.
