ICE Raids 7-Eleven Stores across the US in Crackdown on Undocumented Workers

US immigration agents on Wednesday raided dozens of 7-Eleven stores nationwide as part of a crackdown on companies suspected of hiring undocumented immigrants.

The Wednesday dawn raids in 98 7-Eleven convenient stores resulted in the arrest of 21 people.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials said the raids were a warning to other companies that have employed undocumented immigrants. “Today’s actions send a strong message to U.S. businesses that hire and employ an illegal workforce,” ICE’s Acting Director Thomas D. Homan said in a statement.

“Businesses that hire illegal workers are a pull factor for illegal immigration, and we are working hard to remove this magnet,” Homan said.

“ICE will continue its efforts to protect jobs for American workers by eliminating unfair competitive advantages for companies that exploit illegal immigration,” he added.

President Donald Trump ran on a pledge to crackdown on illegal immigration, and under his administration, ICE has increased efforts to arrest and deport those in the country illegally.

  1. This is getting to be…
This is getting to be ridiculous. This are poeple wo were working not committing a crime working minimum wage jobs odd hours and bad working conditions that no one wants. It is time ICE raided homeless shelters and start with these pople who are a burden to the economy and leave those interested in working for a living alone.

    • ICE is just doing it’s Job…
ICE is just doing it’s Job “as heard as the Illegals are doing their jobs”. So the Person that sent is the one to blame (if their Operation deserves blame) and not ICE itself.

  2. @Anonymous, your warped…
@Anonymous, your warped argument boggles my mind!! So the homeless should be further oppressed in your view? I hope that if you are one of those working under the conditions you describe does not, through no fault of yours find yourself homeless coz you can’t afford a home. Life happens baba. I suggest you take time to go to those shelters and talk to a few of those people and you may well surprise yourself. You may rub shoulders with people whose space you probably would have not shared in their past lives or even been given the pleasure of polishing their shoes. Wewe, humble yourself.

    • i could not follow his logic…
i could not follow his logic either.the raids have to do with working without proper documentation, and hardly any illegals take advantage of shelters.

  3. The raids are on the wrong…
The raids are on the wrong people.People working for a living in jobs that nobody wants are not bothering anybody.Stop defending the homeless. If you have a drug problem chances are quite high that you are involved in other crimes. As for the idiot telling me not to blame ICE you are entitled to your opinion I would care less what you think.Minimum wage low dirty jobs like those in nursing homes, half houses for the crazies, maids housekeepers and lawn maintenance will always be the preserve of illegals .Let them engage in their zero sum game .Those apprehended will be replaced by new hires. This notion ati illegals are taking jobs from Americans is a big lie as the “citizens” would rather collect unemployment.

  4. @Anonymous, with all due…
@Anonymous, with all due respect, the crackdown to my understanding is aimed at companies exploiting those without proper papers and not minimal wage workers! You’ve got it twisted I think. It goes without saying that if one employs someone undocumented, chances are they are paying them peanuts, plus not contributing to taxes, hence robbing from the individual and the government. This cycle extends to those looking for a job with papers that will not be given this job as they will be asking for a minimal wage..a coin the corrupt employer will not be willing to pay, not if he can get away with exploiting the undocumented. Get my drift?

  5. Enlighten or educate…
Enlighten or educate yourself or just Google the difference between ICE and IRS even illegals pay tax and help those lost diasporans with the so called papers who will be condemned to nursing homes in their old age and they begin to collect Medicare meanwhile illegals do not get to collect. The IRS does not care about your status as long as they get their cut .Homeless drug addicts dealers pimps and traffickers do not pay taxes yet they collect in the form of welfare. This population is the one draining the economy .Stop pretending that homeless people deserve to be pitied and thus excused. Most are criminals others cannot hold a job.ICE is barking up the wrong tree just like prostitution under the table jobs cannot be eliminated uncalled for harassment .Only immigration lawyers are celebrating.Stop going for low lying fruit and deport real criminals.
