Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has told the Jubilee government that it should have detained him at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) when he arrived in the country after his 10-day trip to the United States instead of shooting dead his supporters.
Speaking during a fundraiser for the victims of police brutality at Laico Legency Hotel on Friday evening, the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader said police should have personally dealt with him.
Raila said Nasa will will hold a memorial service at Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi on Tuesday for the victims as President Uhuru inauguration takes place at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
He said it was inappropriate for Jubilee to swear-in Uhuru when the whole country was mourning the death of innocent Kenyans killed by police.
“It will be crazy for any government to arrange for any ceremony when the country is mourning… On Tuesday it will not be a rally but a major memorial service to pray with the families to ensure that their loved ones get a descent send off,” Raila said.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) contributed Sh1 million, while co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula donated Sh100,000 each. Nasa said that 18 people were killed on Friday of last week as police tussled opposition supporters who were welcoming Raila from a trip of the US, while others were killed in Mathare and Lucky Summer estates in Nairobi that Sunday.
Raila was flanked by more than 40 MPs affiliated to Nasa including Millie Odhiambo (Suba North), Gladys Wanga (Homabay), Ayub Savula (Lugari), Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja) and Esther Passaris (Nairobi) among others.
Oh boy, this man is…
Oh boy, this man is unbelievable! Ati it’s crazy to swear in Uhuru when the country is mourning. Just as it was crazy for you to sneak out of the country on the night your followers died when upholding your name? Of course, you would have liked to have been arrested at JkA so you can cry brutality to the international community. That bait did not work, so you sacrificed your followers. You, my dear guka, will never be Mandela or any of those leaders you are so desperately trying to copy. You are a sad, sad, wannabe who will go down in history as just that, WANNBE, or should I say WANTED TO BE?

Curiously how much was raised? given a new paybill was almost immediately rolled out. This concoction of politics-resistance-assistance-boycott-paybill numbers-assembly-swearing in-grandstanding-meetings-press releases is just mind-boggling to say the least.
