The Kenyan government has helped three girls return to Kenya after leaving the country to join global terror organization ISIS in Libya.
Firthoza Ali Ahmed, Aisha Mafudh Ashur and Tawfiqa Dahir Adan were saved after being found in the streets of Cairo in Egypt, while trying to locate the Kenyan Embassy in Egypt, after freeing from their captors in Benghazi, Libya.
One of the girls, Firthoza she fell on the trap as she was hunting for a job online when she met someone identifying herself as Umm Mariam on Twitter. She said that Umm Mariam appeared to know her well based on questions she asked.
After chatting for sometime, Umm Mariam offered to assist her get a job abroad, where workers are paid well. She fell for the rare opportunity and since she did not have travel documents, Mariam assured she fix everything for her. That is how the three were lured to travel to Libya to Join ISIS.
The rescuing of the three is part of efforts Kenyan government in collaboration with other foreign governments to prevent recruitment of youths to terror groups and also track those who have already joined.
Girls joining the terror organizations are subjected to inhumane treatment and are sexually abused and beaten up if they resist.
