Safaricom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bob Collymore has told politicians to desist from attacking his employees.
This comes days after National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga named six Safaricom senior staff in August 8th election rigging claims.
The opposition coalition forwarded names of the six to the Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko to have them prosecuted.
“Those who want to accuse must engage me because I am the leader of the team. Don’t accuse my innocent members of staff,”.
“I reiterate these comments are unfair and unjust…let them fight their political agenda instead of dragging us into their woes.’ Bob Collymore told journalists.
Collymore noted that the former Prime Minister was treading a wrong path by linking corporates and dragging them into political battles.
The CEO maintained Safaricom will still continue with the job issued tp them by the electoral commission, since it cannot conduct the election without their services.
He also noted said that the dragging of the company to politics had impacted on its returns and has lost billions of shillings. He termed the move by Raila to link the company to electoral fraud as immature.
