Following the sudden death of her husband late General Joseph Nkaissery, President Uhuru Kenyatta has offered Hellen Nkaissery a job.
President Kenyatta has appointed Hellen Nkaissery to head a Jubilee government initiative that aims to empower women from pastoral communities to earn an income from artwork.
Hellen will now chair the Ushanga Kenya Initiative Steering Committee founded by the Ministry of Tourism to diversify product offerings.
President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed the late Nkaissery as the Interior Cabinet Secretary in 2014 after poaching him from the opposition, where he had been elected for the second term as the Kajiado Central Member of Parliament.
He will be remembered for his efforts in restoring security in the country, after taking office at a time when Kenya faced terror attacks conducted by Somalia-based Al Shabaab group, as well as overseeing key reforms in the police service.
Nkaissery died of heart attack on July 8th. He was laid to rest on Saturday, July 15th at his home in Bisil, Kajiado County.

Good yes. But don’t tell the Maa that: “I gave your ‘daughter’ a job. Vote for me.” Like you told the Kiisis about CJ David Maraga.
Was the job advertised to…
Was the job advertised to the public? Corruption! Why should she jump the queue just because her husband has died. This is what I mean. We have many widows, young women na kathalika without jobs and without anyone to throw them a lifeline. She does not need the job. I am sure her husband’s pension, etc … is more than enough to feed a small village!!
-Woo to those NOBODY WIDOWS…
-Woo to those NOBODY WIDOWS that lose their ‘nobody’ husbands….
-Even more woo to those NOBODY SINGLE WOMEN who have no hubby to place them on the map to success…
…for they shall not inherit the CAKE marked for the successful in Kenya!!!!

Subaru. You hit Uhuru (the Nail) on the head. So if I were her: I would turn it down in Honor of Nkaissery.
Does she really need a job? …
Does she really need a job? I guess Nkaissery had many businesses that she will be managing or learning how to manage them.
And did she ask Uhuru for…
And did she ask Uhuru for the job? I guess not. So my advice to Uhuru would be: Let Mrs. Nkaissery Honor and Mourn her Husband in Rest, Silence and Peace. And respect Other Communities’ Traditions and Customs before Jumping in With Your Your Political Manoeuvres.
However nice it sounds, this…
However nice it sounds, this is just the rich taking care of the rich!! many widowed women in Kenya without even food to eat, in the eyes of the elites, those pple don’t matter, uhuru has continued the stupid policies of his dad and Moi. Favoritism, nepotism, corruption, tribalism and incompetence /stupidity. When will enough be enough!!
Is her job only for one…
Is her job only for one month or does it begin after August 8th.Jubliee has not won the election yet they are busy counting their chickens.
Uhuru needs to stop this Policy of promising jobs. He did the same to Waiguru and Martha Karua ati whoever looses they will get a job in his government. Kwani what about the rest of us poor waninchi
Maybe he is having a guilty conscience after the dissapearance of the security chief 30 days to élections. Where there is smoke there is fire
That is fine with. After…
That is fine with. After that resume of the Late Nkaissery and the service to our Nation, there was no better way of consoling his wife and the Massai community. The wife will be busy…. not looking for wealth but promoting the massai community who are stuck in their culture. That was very wise of you Mr. President and your advisors.
To those who dislike our President, you never appreciate a single thing done by Uhuru. Do you to convince the majority of Kenyans who voted him in were wrong? Do you think Uhuru hates Kenya? Before you challenge any action by the president, try and mention one good thing he has done for our country.
Ngethe, you are getting the…
Ngethe, you are getting the wrong end of the stick. This is not personal, i.e like him or not. It is a matter of principle and ethos. He was, in my view voted in as their was no better alternative. Period. Now, coming back to the topic at hand, you and I know there are millions of poor people in kenya, so when he rubs in our faces what he has done or will do for someone who really does not need a hike up in our faces, it stings! As a friend to the family, he can assist and offer support behind the scenes, but as a public figure, he should keep the gloating to himself. Not when we have the elderly, young and poor crying out for help at the same time. C’mon! In contrast, Sonko is in touch with common people, that’s why he is popular in areas ridden with poverty. He gets down to the gutter and misses with the rest, whilst the Uhuru’s et al, are busy massaging ego’s already inflated. I don’t personally like Sonko, a little too hood for my comfort, but I can’t ignore the appeal he has with people at the grassroots. Please don’t get me started……. just look across the pond at Uhuru’s opponent and what he is dangling to his supporters…. sex after victory! Really? I can envisage the whole nation shutting down when they all get down and dirty and all their wishes, needs will evaporate!! I just despair. These leaders are out of touch, Uhuru included… now what else is new?
