Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant in Mombasa, Suleiman Shahbal has said he will be demanding his Sh1 million bet he placed against Wiper leader and NASA presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka.
According to Shahbal, he had placed a Sh1 million bet with Kalonzo in 2013 when he was still a member of Kalonzo’s party that there was no way he was to be named the 2017 Presidential candidate ahead of ODM leader Raila Odinga.
However, Kalonzo dismissed Shahbal’s claims which ended with them placing a Sh1 million bet.
Shahbal claims that Kalonzo was sure that Raila Odinga was going to honor the memorandum of understanding (MOU) they had prior to 2013 general elections which stated that Kalonzo would be named the 2017 Presidential torch bearer.
“I’m calling him to collect my money. I told him there is no way that Raila would give him the certificate,” said Shahbal told the Star.
On Thursday, Raila Odinga was named the 2017 National Super Alliance’s (NASA) flag bearer ahead of Kalonzo who will be his running mate.
Shahbal said Kalonzo now owes him the six figure bet they placed in 2013 and will be contacting him to demand it.
