President Ruto Reportedly Shuts Down State House Bar

President Ruto has reportedly shut down a bar that he found set up at State House when he assumed office last year.

In a series of tweets on Friday, flamboyant lawyer Donald Kipkorir said the bar that used to serve wine and alcohol to guests at State House no longer exists.

Kipkorir, who had paid a courtesy call to the president at State House, disclosed that he was served beef but there was no wine.

“I was given delicious short ribs without wine!” said Kipkorir, who supported Ruto’s rival Raila Odinga in the August 2022 election.

“I asked President William Ruto for a glass of wine and he told me he pulled down the bar that was there,” he added.

Kipkorir described his visit to State House as humbling, adding that it was meant to mend the broken fences between him and the president.

“It was a humbling experience meeting the President and repairing our friendship. We reminisced over our friendship that goes back to 1992,” the flamboyant attorney wrote.

"President William Ruto also informed me of his vision to transform the country in line with the Asian Tigers & that he was going to strengthen our bilateral relations with them. I implored him to also emulate Thailand 5.0 Economic Plan.”

It is said that President Ruto’s predecessors Uhuru Kenyatta and Mwai Kibaki frequented the State House bar for some drinks. Ruto, a born-against Christian, has previously stated that he does not take alcohol or wine.

These dude, like Moi, thinks drinking is evil but grabbing public resources, stealing land and even killing us fine... These types just hide behind God's name.

Don't know about that!! Moi was a teetotaler and outwardly religious. That hypocrite was an authoritarian who was also a murderer, a thief and incredibly corrupt. He all but tanked Kenya's economy and I won't even go into the political atmosphere. His successor enjoyed libations, didn't kill anyone, didn't demonstrate false piety and didn't have a thing for headmistresses. He guided Kenya through a period of tremendous economic growth including many who joined the middle class during his decade in power. I fear we have Moi 2.0 in power as we speak. He has an authoritarian streak, has eliminated those he deemed subhuman in brutal fashion, he is a corrupt thief and land grabber and has fathered at least one child out of wedlock. Do you see similarities?
