Inside President Kenyatta's Cheap Houses

President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration has kick started plans to construct 500,000 affordable houses by 2022 under the Big Four agenda.

Key features to be considered in the construction of the cheap houses include an open space, smart technology, safety and security.

The estates will have among others sporting facilities, gathering places, playgrounds, and pocket park. Social amenities such as schools, community centers, retail centers, clinics and markets will also be found within the estates.

A bedsitter house will sell for a maximum price of Sh600,000, Sh800,000 for one bedroom, Sh1 million for 2 bedrooms, while a 3 bedroom unit will go for Sh2million.

The first phase of the project will see 1,640 units constructed in Park Land, 20,000 units in Makongeni, Shauri Moyo(5,300), Starehe (3,500),Mavoko (5,500), Social Housing (15,000), Counties (48,000) and Nairobi county (67,800). Construction works for Park Land units is expected to begin next month.

The second phase will see units build in NSSF land in Mavoko, Portland Athi River, Mombasa 1, Eldoret 1, Cooperatives 2, private developers 2, civil servants 2, police 2, Nairobi regeneration and other counties in the financial year 2018/19.

The third lot for financial year 2019/20 include units in Nakuru 1, Kisumu 1, Eldoret, Portland Athi River 2, cooperative 3, private developers 3, civil servants 3, police 3, redevelopment of Nairobi old estates and counties.

Those houses will ultimately be owned by people who have no business owning them. The gova should tell Kenyans who will buy these houses that is what bracket of income earners and how to avoid others from grabbing these units.

ATI NYUMBA LAHISI?DOTO TU.This is the mother of all corruption in Kenya.I hope this milti trillion SCANDAL will sire the much awaited revolution in Kenya.I say this because every worker's(from all tribes) money will be deducted from his salary to fund this FAKE project.Kenyans must wake up to forcefully take back their country from these corrupt devils.It will only fail if it is led by any of the current thugs from both sides.

This is good deal n cheap houses in deed.3bedroom for 2m yaani 20,000$ n pple enslave themselves in the West with mortgages of 180,000$-600,000$ making u a donkey for 30 years???It is truly a good deal for this housing projects??Kenya tuko juu tena juu sana.Guys in majuu u beta send cash for yr relatives to purchase this houses.
