Abomination: Kenyan Man Caught with Over 20 Panties Stolen from Women
Residents of Tegeyat village in Mosop, Nandi County were on Monday left in shock after a 19-year-old man was found with over 20 pieces of underwear stolen from women.
The teenager was caught following a series of mysterious disappearances of female inner garments reported in the area over the past few weeks.
Many women in the area said their undergarments disappeared at night from the hanging lines after washing them.
Following numerous complaints, a door-to-door search was conducted within the village before the suspect identified as Joel Kimurgor was found with several female underwears in his house on Monday.
Tegeyat village elder Kiptanui Ronoh said the suspect was nabbed with more than 20 female underwear and other types of clothes wrapped in bags.
Kimurgor confessed to having stolen the underwears from different households in an attempt to please his girlfriend, who had requested him to buy new undergarments for her to prove his love for her.
Residents condemned the incident saying that it was an abomination in the Kalenjin community to steal undergarments. They said such acts are commonly practiced by witch doctors and sorcerers.
