Detectives have recovered two video cameras and their accessories that were stolen from a Nairobi church as the service was ongoing last Sunday.
The two professional cameras worth Sh1 million disappeared from the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) Zimmerman Parish as the faithful were deep in prayers, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
It is not until the service was over that the church orderlies realized that the expensive equipment was missing, which left the congregants and the clergy in shock.
Sleuths from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau launched an investigation after the Church leadership reported the matter to the DCI. Investigations revealed that a recent convert who had received salvation in the Church was the mastermind behind the disappearance.
David Wanyonyi Simiyu from Trans-Nzoia County allegedly stole the equipment and sold it to unscrupulous dealers at Nairobi’s Imenti business hub. Forensic analysis and surveillance conducted via the DCI mobile laboratory in the heart of Nairobi’s CBD led detectives to the suspects who bought the equipment.
The three Joshua Mulei, Douglas Karanja, and Stephen Thuo, who trade in stolen electronic equipment, were unmasked technologically through forensics. The two cameras and their accessories were also recovered from the suspects.
The three are being held at Muthaiga police station as detectives intensify a manhunt for the main suspect Simiyu.
“…the PCEA Zimmerman clergy have since forgiven Simiyu in accordance with the scriptures and like the prodigal son have welcomed him back to the flock tomorrow,” DCI noted.
This is Same way thuggish…
This is Same way thuggish Men steal Daughters of GOD from Church for Wives. Sister! Don’t make a Fool and Target of Yourself going to the Front for “Prayer for a Husband.” Luhya THUGS like this SIMIYU will Come get You (and your Money).
Can’t believe this stupid…
Can’t believe this stupid pastor is welcoming this well calculated thief back! He cane purposely there with a goal of stealing just fooled everyone with his recent, “ fake salvation”!
@GG, the pastor is following…
@GG, the pastor is following the book which was written by oppressors and here is what it say,
Matthew 5:39-40 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.
As part of the punishment,…
As part of the punishment, the judge should use his/her discretion to have the three attend the same church every Sunday,and that they should recite the 8th commandment each time,in front of the congregation.
What these miscreants did is tantamount to desecrating a sacrosanct …house of the All Mighty.I might add when he was not looking.
@Maxiley, there was a case…
@Maxiley, there was a case in Nigeria about a month ago where a criminal burglarized a church and the sentence? Just, like you are suggesting; attend church every Sunday for 5 years and do janitorial duties in lieu of a fine.
When I was a religious…
When I was a religious prisoner of the “oppressor’s slave-based/ superior-inferior religion that is based on the late Son of Mariam, I read the following passage in the book of Matthew Chapter 6: 6-8 which says:
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, who think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
Who said these words? The late Son of Mariam. My simple question to those who are still addicted to this religion is: Why go to church when your boss (the late son of Mariam) told you how and where yo pray?
WaSwahili husema, “Asiyefunzwa na mamaye hufunzwa na ulimwengu usio na huruma.”
I am no longer a prisoner of this foreign and fake religion. I cremated the name that I was given when I was baptized without my consent and permanently stopped praying at the age of twenty-one. I do not observe or respect the oppressor’s culture, traditions, or religion. I don’t even celebrate or observe the day that I was born.
For those who are still trapped and prisoner’s of this religion, please re-read the biblical verse that I shared with you and stop going to churches.
