Raila Visits Retired President Moi at His Rural Kabarak Home

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has on Thursday visited former President Daniel arap Moi at his rural residence in Kabarak, Nakuru County.

Odinga flew to the retired Head of State’s home on Thursday morning in what the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party said was a courtesy call on Moi.

“H.E. Raila Odinga today led a team of leaders from various parts of the country to pay a courtesy call to the former President H.E. Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi at his Kabarak home. The two leaders consulted on the current state of political affairs in the Nation.” ODM said in a tweet.

Raila’s spokesman Dennis Onyango said the two leaders discussed the state of the country during the visit, which lasted more than an hour.

The former Prime Minister was flanked by among others Senator George Khaniri and MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir.

He was welcomed by his son Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and KANU Secretary-General Nick Salat. The meeting comes a month after Odinga pledged to work with President Kenyatta in uniting the country.

Moi recently returned to Kenya after having been flown to Israel where he underwent a successful knee operation at a hospital in Tel Aviv.
