Jubilee Wants Mudavadi, Orengo Prosecuted for Illegally Accessing IEBC Servers

President Uhuru’s Jubilee Party has called for investigation and possible prosecution of Raila Odinga’s chief agent Musalia Mudavadi and Nasa lawyer James Orengo for allegedly accessing Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers illegally.

In a letter by Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju on Friday to the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko, the ruling party wants investigations launched into how Nasa accessed electoral commission’s server logs without permission.

Tuju cites an August 10th letter that Mudavadi and Orengo wrote to IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati saying they had “secretly and surreptitiously” obtained data on the actual presidential results in the commission using “confidential sources.”

This was a day before IEBC declared President Uhuru Kenyatta the winner of the August 8th presidential election.

Jubilee also refers to Mudavadi’s press statement issued on the same date, communicating that actual results from IEBC servers indicated Raila as the winner of the poll.

Tuju noted that Nasa could only have extracted these information by accessing IEBC systems illegally.

“We request your good office to expeditiously direct comprehensive investigations and prosecution if your investigations uncover sufficient evidence, pursuant to the provisions of the IEBC Act, Election Offences Act, and Communications Act, Penal Code and any other law against Hon. Mudavadi and Senior Counsel James Orengo and any other person who has unauthorised access to the IEBC servers,” reads the letter.

This comes as the opposition outfit demanded the DPP to prosecute of ten IEBC officials including the chairman Chebukati, within72 hours.

  1. These suckers need to go to…
These suckers need to go to jail. They either hacked or directed others to hack the IEBC system. Hacking is a felony.

  2. The holy grail of their…
The holy grail of their petition was based on claim that the system was hacked. The insistence to be given access in to the servers was a ploy to go and “uncover” the “rigging evidence” they( through their agents in IEBC) had planted. My self-appointed village football coach back in the day in his wisdom said “if you cannot win play rough” (ie you cannot miss the ball and miss the opponents leg!). Politics largely remains a game like soccer-fouls, unfair calls, shifting goal posts, unfair penalties, yellow cards and threats of red cards from SC, hooligans for hire, bought players, absent minded cheerleaders, cantankerous referees on hire, lines men who are scared of the chants from the bleachers, a hacked scoreboard ( no one cares about referee’s score cards 34A, 34B) etc. A re-march cannot be scheduled on a Saturday or a Sunday because of they are both sabbath days. The referee has a good idea, why not re-match on a Monday at the school grounds(to allow him get new score cards and reset the scoreboard). How about the kids learning, they are tomorrows leaders? one may ask. The unspoken answer from the team and the spectators is “they will learn on the job” and ” the game is supreme”. Wanjiku in her authenticity is awaiting for the final score oblivious of market-place that the soccer game has turned into.
