President Ruto Removes Visa Restrictions for All Travelers
President William Ruto

During the Jamhuri Day celebrations on Tuesday, President William Ruto made a significant announcement regarding Kenya’s visa requirements.

Ruto’s initial plan was to allow African citizens visa-free entry, but he has now announced that this privilege will be extended to citizens from every corner of the globe. From January 2024 onwards, Kenya will become a visa-free destination, relieving visitors of the hassle of applying for visas. Additionally, Ruto highlighted the introduction of an electronic system for visitors to identify themselves and gain authorization before they arrive in the country.

”Beginning January 2024, Kenya will be a visa-free country, It shall no longer be necessary for any person from any corner of the globe to carry the burden of applying for a visa to come to Kenya. To implement this new policy, we have developed a digital platform to ensure that all travellers to Kenya are identified in advance,” Ruto remarked.

During his speech at the Three Basins Climate Change Conference in Brazzaville, Congo on October 28, President Ruto subtly suggested the idea of eliminating visa requirements. Kagame emphasized that Rwanda’s participation in the World Travel and Tourism Council’s Global Summit has motivated the country to boost its tourism sector and streamline trade with fellow African nations.

He reiterated the freedom for any African person to journey to Rwanda without the burden of visa charges. Similarly, Seychelles and Gambia have embraced this visa exemption for all African nations, a choice driven by their reliance on tourism.

“Any African, can get on a plane to Rwanda whenever they wish and they will not pay a thing to enter our country, ” said Kagame.

Not a very smart idea. Nothing wrong with acquiring a visa to enter Kenya. What is next????? No passport required?????? We have already sold Kenya to the highest bidders. Poor Kenya!!!!!! A country ought to mind its borders very carefully. Be proud of your nationality. You need to account for all the people coming into and leaving the country.
