Kenyan Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are set to benefit from the US-Kenya SME Trade Initiative Program.
The program that is co-organized by the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) and Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) targets small enterprises that are eyeing the global market or those that want to export more to the US market.
KEPSA says the program provides a unique platform to facilitate the US-Kenya SME partnership, supporting women and youth-run Kenyan businesses as well as US women, minority, and diaspora-owned businesses.
To be eligible for this program, an enterprise must have been in operation for at least a year, have less than one hundred employees, and be registered in Kenya. They must also be ready to export or have been exporting and wants to scale up. The application is open to KEPSA members only.
The initiative seeks to expand trade and investment between American and Kenyan SMEs through partnership, information sharing, training, logistics, financing, among others.
Under the program, Kenyan SMEs will be provided background and training on the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) market opportunities, including sector-specific market information.
